Traveling to Greenland in March!
If you want to share real Greenlandic experience go to Qeqertarsuaq where you can see what Greenlandic people are doing during wintertime!
There are several nice trips:

Kangerluk
Dogsledge trips to Kangerluk start in Qeqertarsuaq, you will pass the Blasedalen, a deep gorge between the huge basalt mountains of the Disko Island and after having reached the top at the end of the valley you have a great view of the next fjord! Crossing the ice on your dogsledge you arrive in the small village of Kangerluk where 30-40 people live the whole year round, it is one of the smallest settlements in Greenland. There is a small shop/post office, a school, church and the so-called meeting-house, where you can have your meals, somebody from the village will provide you with dinner meals. If you arrive with a group of 10-15 people you are diveded into small groups of 2-4 people who stay in local hunter houses and you will sleep mainly in the bedroom of the local people and staying in their homes makes it a real and typical Greenlandic experience. We enjoyed their hospitality. Walking around in the village you see what the locals are doing: going for icefishing or seal hunting, one week ago somebody shot a polarbear! In the evening the people organized a spontaneous “Disco-dancing event” in the meeting house and we had a lot of fun! It was a nice and warm atmosphere. The next day we went to another dogsledge ride along the coast on the frozen ice and the light was completely different in comparison to the day before. The third day we went back to Qeqertarsuaq, the dogs had to climb a steep mountain and often we had to run next to the slay in order to make it easier for them. Several young dogs - they were on their first longer trip- sometimes they preferred playing instead of serious working! It is a perfect experience, you hear nothing but the dogs, their smell and breathing.

Qeqertarsuaq
From Qeqertarsuaq it is possible to go to Lyngmark glacier (Lyngmarksbraen) by snowmobile and spend the night in the new and comfortable hut on top of this glacier. We built an igloo, it is hard work to cut snow into pieces and put them one on another until reaching the “roof” of the igloo where you have to be especially careful to fix the different blocks, otherwise the roof will collapse!! It is quite “warm” inside the igloo but you need good sleeping bags and matresses to stay there for longer. We preferred to stay in the cosy hut where we had a nice candlelight dinner and watch the outside thermometer indicating -25 degrees Celsius that night!
Another nice daytrip is a dogsledge tour along the coast passing Kuannit with its frozen waterfalls. On this tour on the frozen ocean you are surrounded by huge icebergs and this is special to be so close to them and you realize that ice can have so many different colours from white to grey and green!

The mentioned tours were part of  Topas´ trip “Dogsledge at the Disko Island”.
