08.07.03 - Hotel Arctic launches new website with webcam

Greenland's most popular hotel, Hotel Arctic in Ilulissat, has just launched a new website, one of the new functions of which is a webcam that looks out onto the Icefjord, the town's UNESCO heritage-listed pride and joy.

- The view from the hotel out onto the Icefjord is so fantastic that we want to share it with everyone who has access to the Internet, says director Erik Bjerregaard, who hopes that the constantly updated photos will further stimulate interest for visiting Greenland and Ilulissat.



The camera shows exactly the same view that the guests staying at the hotel can see, since it is placed in the window of one of the rooms.

With its new website in Greenlandic, Danish and English, Hotel Arctic will be able to provide more information than before: All the different types of rooms are described; menus and wine menus for the restaurant and brasserie are available; finally, there is a description of conference facilities and an introduction to the Icefjord. The hotel's newsletter can be ordered in different versions, including a version with information and special offers aimed at the local population in Ilulissat.
