The race lasts until 12 September, and at the end of the race the 14 competing teams will have run across more than 100 km (62 miles) of cross-county terrain, cycled 50-60 km and paddled 40 km in a kayak.
Greenland Adventure Race takes place in the tough, but fertile natural surroundings near Narsarsuaq, Narsaq, Igaliku and Qaqortoq. Surrounded by snow-covered mountain peaks, the Ice Sheet and rivers, the teams will compete for the prized positions on the podium.

Pitsi Høegh from Greenland Adventure Race’s secretariat has announced that there will be a change to the planned route of the 1st stage, as the Kiattuut Sermiat glacier near Narsarsuaq has melted in several places where the participants were due to have run.
- These days the Greenlandic landscape is particularly changeable, and thus we have to adapt the route every year so that the route remains safe for the participants, says Pitsi Høegh.
