Between December and April, Destination Eastgreenland is offering you the chance to acquire your very own dogsled driving licence in areas in which world-famous polar explorers such as Fridtjof Nansen, Robert Gessain and Knud Rasmussen once ventured.
You will be introduced to the sled’s historical background, as well as the theory and working processes associated with dog-sledding. After 1½-days’ training, your skills will be tested in a “driving test”, after which you will receive a special dogsled driving licence.

The dogsled licence provides you with the requisite skills to handle and drive a sled pulled by 6-8 dogs and to act as a co-driver on a sled with up to 14 dogs.
In addition to simply giving you a fantastic thrill, the idea behind the dogsled driving licence is to give you a unique insight into the Inuit culture of East Greenland and this one thousand-year-old mode of transport.
