Maria and the Director of Katuaq Julie Pars both held a speech at the opening of the exhibition.

- “Maria has worked with photography, film, video, painting, drawing, textile printing, metals, acting, scenography, books and jewelry, as well as being a member of the Greenlandic artist union KIMIK.” Julie Pars says in her speech, and she adds that Maria is a young, but ambitious Greenlandic artist.

Her works
Maria Paninguak´ Kjærulff is exhibiting 27 of her works; her works are made between 2003 and 2008. This talented artist’s works are very different, regarding choice of motif, colors and style as well as price range.

- “By exhibiting I get an opportunity to share my works. I hope, that people will be inspired - inspired by a young artist following her dream.  I hope that there are other young people who will take advantage of what they are good at. I also hope that the ones who come to see my exhibit will get the same feeling of satisfaction as I got when I created my works.”

- “When I look at one of my works, I am brought back to the time when I made them. The thoughts I had, my feelings, it all comes back to me. As time passes, I appreciate my works more and more.” Says Maria to greenland.com.

- “My mother says: ’artists give so much to society’. Thus people must come and embrace what is given to them.” Ends Maria Paninguak`Kjærulff.
