A young ambitious artist exhibits in ”Katuaq” this summer.
This summer, the Cultural Centre of Greenland, Katuaq, presents the works of a well-educated artist. Maria Paninguak´ Kjærulff is 28 years old; she grew up in the capital of Greenland, Nuuk. Maria has a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from Nova Scotia College of Art & Design University. She also took a semester in Cooper Union School of Art in New York.

Maria and the Director of Katuaq Julie Pars both held a speech at the opening of the exhibition.
- “Maria has worked with photography, film, video, painting, drawing, textile printing, metals, acting, scenography, books and jewelry, as well as being a member of the Greenlandic artist union KIMIK.” Julie Pars says in her speech, and she adds that Maria is a young, but ambitious Greenlandic artist.
Her works Maria Paninguak´ Kjærulff is exhibiting 27 of her works; her works are made between 2003 and 2008. This talented artist’s works are very different, regarding choice of motif, colors and style as well as price range.
- “By exhibiting I get an opportunity to share my works. I hope, that people will be inspired - inspired by a young artist following her dream. I hope that there are other young people who will take advantage of what they are good at. I also hope that the ones who come to see my exhibit will get the same feeling of satisfaction as I got when I created my works.”

- “When I look at one of my works, I am brought back to the time when I made them. The thoughts I had, my feelings, it all comes back to me. As time passes, I appreciate my works more and more.” Says Maria to greenland.com.
